Rannjvijay Singh defends spanking, licking task on Splitsvilla season 10, calls it 'fun'

Actor and TV show host Rannvijay Singh is all set to kick-off another reality show on MTV. The new show will not be anything like Roadies or Splitsvilla, rather it will be all about fitness. He will be back on the small screen with an adventure-fitness reality show called Fitness League of India. While talking to InUth, Rannvijay got candid about his upcoming projects and also shared his mind on the explicit content of Splitsvilla with the show receiving backlash for including controversial tasks.

Excerpts:

What do you have to say on Splitsvilla 10 receiving backlash for its explicit content?
I don’t know anything about any backlash but it was done in the right spirit. These days every channel is very particular about the content so we have standard and practices team (S&P) on the set informing about what to do. Somebody getting licked may sound very cheesy but it’s not that bad. It’s fun on the set.

Accha hai 2500 channels hain, main toh bolta hoon logon ko, channel switch karo, kuch aur dekho par hota nahi hai ye logon se. Just because it looks yucky its nothing like that. It was so much fun. The contestants too were having fun. The thing to be kept in mind is how we perceive things. And talking about boys getting whacked, girls enjoyed it. It was simple fun. Agar baat ka batangad banaya jaega to kisi bhi baat ka batangad ban sakta hai.

Do you think your talent in Bollywood is underutilized?
A person’s calibre and talent is the whole problem. Like in London Dreams, what role I was given I did that. So if the same director, like Vipul Shah, is hiring me in three other films like in LD, Action Replay, Pukar, that means he likes me. That means he must have seen something in me ki yeh banda sahi hai iske saath dobara kaam kareinge. For me, this is the success.
