As told to leading daily, the show will also see a complete new cast (so there’s no Vidya Balan). Here’s what Shrabani said in her statement:

As part of our portfolio in the comedy space, we are bringing back the hit comedy show of 90s as Hum Paanch Phir Se. Keeping the intrinsic elements of the popular show intact, the sequel is a modern take on the popular sitcom Hum Paanch. Hum Paanch is one of the immensely popularly Indian telly shows ever. The show was first aired in 1995, became a hit and returned back in 2005. It features the story of family with 5 daughters and their day to day fun antics. The show also got into the limelight because of featuring  Vidya Balan in a rather interesting avatar. Vidya, played one of the daughters named Radhika, a girl who’s too much into studies and always has a scientific logic behind everything.

While the news of Hum Paanch returning is surely exciting, the fact that the cast and crew is not the same is little disappointing.
