Vijay 61 : Big news! Ilayathalapathy to don triple role in the next Atlee film

The film, which is tentatively titled Vijay 61, marks the second collaboration of the Vijay-Atlee duo after the blockbuster Theri

Fans of Ilayathalapathy Vijay have reasons to rejoice, as their favorite idol will be donning triple roles in his upcoming film, directed by Atlee. The film, which is tentatively titled Vijay 61, marks the second collaboration of the Vijay-Atlee duo after the blockbuster Theri. The film is also touted as the 100th venture of Thenandal Films.

The Thuppakki actor will be seen portraying the role of a Sardar father and also essaying the role of two sons, one of whom is a cop. The makers are currently filming the flashback scenes of Sardar Vijay in Binny Mills and Adityaram Studios, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The combination scenes of Vijay and Nithya Menen are being canned in this shoot.

Vijay 61 was in news ever since the cast and crew were announced. The film stars three female leads: Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha, and Nithya Menen. Interestingly, the film marks Vijay’s third collaboration with both Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha. The Tamil superstar’s previous films with the two— Thuppakki and Jilla (Kajal), and Kaththi and Theri (Samantha)—were blockbusters at the Box Office.

Vijay 61 is written by renowned writer, K. Vijayendra Prasad. The SS Rajamouli’s father’s previous films, Baahubali and Bajrangi Bhaijaan turned out to be all-time Indian blockbusters and the makers of Vijay 61 will be hoping to recreate the same success from the veteran writer. The makers have also roped in Oscar winner AR Rahman to compose the music for the film.

Vijay 61 also marks the second collaboration of Ilyathalapathy-Atlee duo after the 2016 blockbuster Theri.
