Vijay 61: 5 reasons why we feel this Vijay-Atlee film will be a sure shot blockbuster of 2017

This film marks the second collaboration of the Vijay-Atlee duo after the blockbuster Theri. Here's why this film will be a sure shot blockbuster of 2017

The shooting of one of the most awaited Tamil film of 2017 began on Wednesday. Produced by Thenandal Films, the film, which is tentatively titled Vijay 61, marks the second collaboration of the Vijay-Atlee duo after the blockbuster Theri. Vijay 61 is also touted as the 100th venture of Thenandal Films.

Here are 5 reasons why InUth feels this Vijay-Atlee film will be a sure shot blockbuster of 2017.

1) The Ilayathalapathy factor

Ilayathalapathy Vijay is undoubtedly the most bankable star in the Tamil film industry. The actor is currently having a dream run at the box office. Bairavaa and Puli are the only Vijay-starrers that don’t have the blockbuster tag in his last 10 films—Kaavalan, Velayudham, Nanban, Thuppakki, Thalaivaa, Jilla, Kaththi, and Theri. In fact, Bairavaa, though opened to average reviews, made decent business at the Box Office. With Vijay 61, the actor is teaming up with his Theri director and is sure to break many records at the Box Office.

2) Atlee’s 100% success ratio

Director Atlee has so far made two films—Raja Rani and Theri—and both of them turned out to be huge blockbusters at the Box Office. His debut outing Raja Rani was a clean family entertainer while his second film, Theri was a paisa-vasool mass entertainer. And Vijay 61 is believed to be a family entertainer with equal dose of action and romance, which will only help the film to earn extra crores once it releases.

3) K. Vijayendra Prasad’s story

Another factor to look out for Vijay 61 will be the story by renowned writer, K. Vijayendra Prasad. The SS Rajamouli’s father’s previous films, Baahubali and Bajrangi Bhaijaan turned out to be all-time Indian blockbusters and the makers of Vijay 61 will be hoping to recreate the same success from the veteran writer.

4) AR Rahman’s music

Ilayathalapathy Vijay films are always known for its super hit music as well. And this time, the Tamil superstar is collaborating with the Oscar-winning composer, AR Rahman, which means the music lovers can expect another chartbuster music from Vijay 61.

5) Three leading heroines: Jyothika, Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha

Vijay 61 stars three female leads: Jyothika, Kajal Aggarwal, and Samantha. Interestingly, the film marks the third collaboration of all three heroines with Ilayathalapathy Vijay. The Vedalam actor’s previous films with the three leading heroines—Kushi and Thirumalai (Jyothika), Thuppakki and Jilla (Kajal), and Kaththi and Theri (Samantha)—were blockbusters at the Box Office.

Vijay 61 will be shot in Chennai, Punjab, US and across the beautiful locations of Europe.
