Singam 3 already a Rs 100 crore grosser; Suriya's stardom is 2nd next to Rajinikanth, says Gnanavel Raja

The much-awaited Tamil film of 2017, Suriya starrer Singam 3 is just three days away from its theatrical release. Directed by Hari and produced by Gnanavel Raja, the film is the third installment of the successful Singam franchise. The action-entertainer was earlier planned to release in 2016 but later postponed due to few unavoidable situations happened across the Tamil Nadu including the recent Vardha Cyclone on December last year.

According to Singam 3 producer, Gnanavel Raja, the pre-release business of the Suriya starrer has already earned Rs. 100 crore for him. He also stated that his stardom is second best to Rajinikanth in South.

Gnanavel Raja was quoted as saying:

Singam 3 is already a Rs. 100 crore grosser. The film has already raked in Rs. 100 crore as a part of satellite and distribution rights. After Rajinikanth, it’s Suriya who enjoys almost the same kind of stardom.

Singam 3 features ars Anushka Shetty and Shruti Haasan as the female leads. The film also marks the Tamil debut of model and Mr. World, Thakur Anup Singh as the main antagonist.

The Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of Singam 3 have been sold for Rs 41 crore, which is the highest ever for a Suriya film. The Telugu version of the film, titled Yamudu has fetched Rs 18 crore for the makers. The Karnataka and Kerala theatrical rights have been sold for Rs 4.75 and Rs 3.6 crore, respectively. The overseas rights of Singam 3 have approximately earned Rs 13.50 crore whereas the audio/satellite and other rights have earned Rs 22 crore.
