Sultan to release in China. Will it become second biggest hit after Dangal?

Sultan has won the Best Action Movie Award at the Shanghai International Film Festival. The film is also due for release in China later this year

Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer wrestling drama Sultan is releasing in China later this year, something which is being looked forward to by trade experts. Ahead of its release in the neighbouring country, Sultan is making headlines. The movie has won the prestigious Best Action Movie Award at the Shanghai International Film Festival. This Ali Abbas Zafar’s directorial is the first Indian film to win this award. Surely, Sultan has bagged another feather in its cap even before its release which will only add to the buzz.

China is emerging as one of the biggest markets for movies having over 40,000 screens. Another Bollywood release Dangal is making all the right noises in China and has earned a lot of money, over Rs 1200 crore approximately. It will be interesting to see if Sultan gives a tough competition to Dangal at Chinese Box Office.

The Bollywood movies are taking the global silver screen by storm. Dangal, has emerged as the highest grossing non-Hollywood film there. The film has won immense praises from all sections of Chinese audience including President Xi Jinping. This Aamir Khan starrer film released in 9000 out of 40,000 screens in China.

Sultan will be getting a tough competition from SS Rajamaouli’s magnum opus Baahubali: The Conclusion  as it is also set to release in September in China.
