Aamir Khan and Rajinikanth, both are superstars whose position cannot be challenged and this year they will have a face-off at Box Office. Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar and Rajinikanth’s much-awaited film Enthiran 2.0 will be hitting screens in Diwali 2017. Secret Superstar, was earlier scheduled to release on 4 August, but now the date has been shifted.
This clash is going to be unlike any that Bollywood has ever seen. The primary reason behind this is that both Rajinikanth and Aamir are crowd pullers. Their movies go on to create new Box Office records and smash the previous ones. Rajinikanth’s last release Kabali and Aamir Khan’s Dangal went on to become the biggest blockbusters of 2016.
There is no denying that this clash is huge and this brings us to another question. Why did Aamir Khan decide to challenge Rajinikanth? Don’t Box Office clashes turn dirty? Why would Aamir eye a date which is already reserved for Rajinikanth?

Well, apparently, Aamir Khan did not go for an August release because two big Bollywood releases are already coming that month. Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Shah Rukh Kha’s yet untitled project that is helmed by Imtiaz Ali, both are releasing on 11 August.

So, if Aamir would have decided to go ahead and release Secret Superstar on 4 August, the numbers of screens allotted to the movie would be reduced. The screens would have been occupied by movies of Akshay and SRK.
But in the case of a Diwali release, Aamir Khan might have a good news. A huge festival like Diwali leaves scope for two movies to be occupied. So, 2.o and Secret Superstar can go about with their release without wondering if they would eat out on collections of each other.

To make the release far from nasty, Aamir Khan took few steps. Apparently, he called Rajinikanth to discuss this. A source in the know told a leading daily,
Aamir himself called Rajini Sir and discussed his concerns vis-à-vis Secret Superstar shifting from August to Diwali. Both the actors share a warm bond and it was with Rajini Sir’s blessings that Aamir has announced a Diwali release for Secret Superstar

Starring Zaira Wasim in the lead, Secret Superstar is written-directed by Advait Chandan and produced by Aamir Khan Productions. Apart from Rajinikanth, 2.o also stars Akshay Kumar in the role of a villain.
