Kashmir's 'Tyrion Lannister' To Make His Bollywood Debut In Salman Khan's Bharat?

Let's hope Mir isn't playing the comic-relief in Bharat, like a similarly short character in Dhadak did.

Tariq Mir, or ‘Kashmir’s Tyrion Lannister’ as he’s popularly known as, will probably be making his Bollywood debut alongside Salman Khan in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat. A struggling actor from the valley, Mir’s face became a social media phenomenon earlier this year once people noticed the striking similarity between him and Game Of Thrones star, Peter Dinklage.

Bharat’s costume designer Ashley Rebello confirmed this news by posting a picture on his Instagram account, captioning his picture with Mir, “Just see who I am with, on the sets of Bharat.”

Interestingly, Mir has the same bushy beard, the scruffy hair, and the facial scars associated with his world-famous doppelganger from the HBO show. He also seems to be sporting a medieval outfit, so reminiscent of Tyrion Lannister.

Ali Abbas Zafar’s film has just gone on the floors, and the lead star, Salman Khan is reportedly going to be essaying five characters from the 1960s to 2018. Quite ambitious, as some might say. The director-actor duo have had a blockbuster partnership till now in Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai (both films have a 500+ crore worldwide gross), and it should help Khan redeem himself from the under-performing Race 3. Well, at least domestically.

Let’s hope Mir isn’t playing the comic-relief, as a similarly short character in Dhadak did. Sadly, sensitivity still isn’t something that is a given in mainstream Bollywood.
