At a promotional event in Mumbai during Q/A session about his upcoming film Hindi Medium, versatile actor Irrfan Khan has unintentionally landed Pakistani actress Saba Qamar into trouble, when he cracked a joke on her marriage following up a question on whether Pakistani celebrities should be allowed to work in the Hindi film industry.
Given the fact that celebrities from the neighboring country are not allowed to work in India post Uri attacks, Irrfan Khan dodged the question wittily saying that she is now married to an Indian and hence technically is an Indian.
While the joke was played cool in India, Pakistani media was somewhat outraged by this quote and turned Irrfan’s statements into headlines.
What’s worse is that the actress has been receiving death threats by a few people who are actually believing that she has married an Indian.
