A new day, and a new trailer where Salman Khan takes his fans for granted. The trailer for Dabangg 3 dropped on Friday, where Salman Khan can be seen romancing Saiee Manjrekar. The debutante, who happens to be the daughter of renowned director/actor Mahesh Manjrekar, is 21. She plays one of the love-interests of the 53-year-old Salman Khan.
Being witness to many Salman Khan-starrers over the years, the age-gap of nearly 32 years isn’t the most shocking news about the film. After all, Sonakshi Sinha was merely 22, when she began working with a 44-year-old Salman Khan in the first Dabangg film in 2010. Since then, Khan has ensured that the two decade age gap between him and his leading ladies is maintained.
Here is proof.
In Dabangg 3,
Salman Khan (53) – Saiee Manjrekar (21) = 32 years
With his latest film, Salman has really embraced the mantra ‘go big or go home!’ Saiee Manjrekar is his youngest leading lady. Just to put this into perspective, Salman had already been working for a decade when Saiee was born in 1998.
In Bharat,
Salman Khan (53) – Disha Patani (27) = 26 years
Playing Khan’s ‘love interest’ during the character’s prime youth, Patani mainly features in the song Slow Motion.
In Race 3,
Salman Khan (52) – Jacqueline Fernandez (33) = 19 years
Having appeared alongside Salman Khan in Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick, this was Fernandez’s second film with Khan.
In Tiger Zinda Hai,
Salman Khan (52) – Katrina Kaif (35) = 17 years
Starring in Ali Abbas Zafar’s action film, this pair is the closest to ‘acceptable’, and even that means 17 years. God bless Bollywood!
In Sultan,
Salman Khan (51) – Anushka Sharma (31) = 20 years
In Ali Abbas Zafar’s film around a Haryana-based wrestler, Khan astonished the world by playing a 30-year-old version of himself by simply shaving off his facial hair. To put the age-gap into perspective, Salman was a working actor in the year Sharma was born.
