Sonu Nigam stirred a new controversy when he spoke about his sleep getting disturbed because of the azaan playing in loudspeakers. He had tweeted, “God bless everyone. I’m not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India. And by the way Mohammed did not have electricity when he made Islam.. Why do I have to have this cacophony after Edison?”
After his tweets, a cleric from West Bengal announced a bounty of Rs 10 lakhs to anyone who would shave the singer’s head. After the Sonu called a press conference and went bald and asked the cleric to bring the promised amount. After Sonu’s act, the cleric said that he did not meet all the conditions. In a recent development of this case, it has now been revealed that the man who announced the amount is not an Imam after all.
