A photo posted by Parineeti Chopra on Instagram has put her on the wrong side of netizens so much so that she was forced to delete it. The picture captured her assistant standing next to her and carrying an umbrella and three bags—one of which appeared to be Parineeti’s handbag. Her Instagram post received many negative comments with many suggesting that the Ishaqzaade actress holds her own umbrella.
While one of the comments read: ‘Holding your own umbrella wouldn’t make you any less of a star’, another user sarcastically commented that ‘the umbrella must have been a 100 kilos’. One user even went to the say that Parineeti’s weight loss transformation for which she was lauded was just a publicity stunt.
The actress is currently vacationing in Dubai and surely didn’t want to be at the receiving side of the trolls—a fair enough reason why she deleted the photo.
A few months ago, Parineeti faced a similar backlash after she posted a birthday video for a friend. In the video, Parineeti asked her friend to “eat less and become thin.” Actress Alia Bhatt who also featured in the clip objected to it by saying ‘Aree!’. Soon enough, the netizens took cognizance of the video and slammed Parineeti for body shaming her friend. Addressing the entire controversy, Parineeti, later in an interview said that she didn’t pay much heed to what Internet trolls thought about her.
Looks like, intentionally or unintentionally, Parineeti has a way of doing things that invite backlash.
On the work front, Parineeti will be next seen in YRF’s movie Meri Pyaari Bindu opposite Ayushmaan Khurrana. Set in Kolkatta, Parineeti will play the role of a singer in the movie.
