Music composer Pritam is best known for his work in films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil among others. Pritam on Monday announced that he has walked out of Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon starrer Raabta after its producer expressed an interest to have an “outside song” in the album.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Pritam wrote: “I had decided a while back to only do solo composer albums and not have an outside song in my album.”
“In Raabta, producers want to recreate an existing song from the music label as part of promotions so I have decided to not continue with the film and requested the producers to take out my name from the film credits and promotions. The album will be completed by my company Jam 8.”
The movie is produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series and Homi Adajania apart from Dinesh Vijan, who has directed it too.
Pritam had earlier collaborated with Vijan on films like Love Aaj Kal and Cocktail.
Featuring Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon for the first time, the film is a love story which will connect two different eras. Sushant, who is rumored to be dating Kriti since quite some time now, has garnered great response for their fresh on-screen pair in the recently released trailer.
Apart from them, Raabta also features Rajkummar Rao in a pivotal role. In the film, he will be seen playing a man aged 324.
Directed by Dinesh Vijan, the film is slated to release on 9 June this year. It also has Varun Sharma in a pivotal role, while Deepika Padukone will be seen in a special dance number.
