Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2 is already a box office winner and the film is already on a record breaking spree. Directed by Saurabh Kapoor, the movie is the second installment to Arshad Warsi’s 2013 courtroom drama Jolly LLB.
The film is doing exceptionally well not only domestically but in the international market as well. The film was made on a budget of 45 crores and has already recovered its cost from the satellite, digital and music rights.
Jolly LLB 2 did a business of Rs 13.20 crore on Friday, Rs 17.31 on Saturday. Rs 19.95 crore on Sunday and Rs 7.26 crore on Monday, minting a total of Rs 57.72 crore so far.
The film has crossed Rs 50 crore in just three days of its theatrical release and is also amongst Akshay Kumar’s top five openers.
Not only this, the film has surpassed the lifetime collections of the first installment Jolly LLB. The first installment earned Rs 32 crore in its lifetime while Jolly LLB 2 earned Rs 30.52 crore in just two days. Also, the film has recorded an all-time biggest weekend in February in the history of Bollywood.
While the film is being highly appreciated by the audience and is doing great domestically, it has been banned in Pakistan. After Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees, Jolly LLB 2 is banned by the Examining Committee of Pakistan Censor Board as the film talks about the Kashmir issue.
But all in all, Jagdishwar Mishra aka Jolly will take you on a laugh ride and will make you his fan. The film fraternity is also going gaga over Akshay’s performance and the social media is flooded with congratulatory messages for the actor.
