Aamir Khan’s Dangal is ruling the China box office like a boss and even in week 3 of its release, the film’s business refuses to slow down. In week 3 of its release, the Aamir Khan starrer did a business of $ 6.02 million on Friday and $ 16.16 million on Saturday, minting a total of $ 100.69 million, which is approx Rs 649.03 crore so far.
The movie, released in around 7,000 screens in China as Shuai Jiao Baba, which means Let’s Wrestle, Dad. Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dangal is about a gritty wrestler from small town training his daughters to become world-class wrestlers. The film has already broken the record of PK which earned Rs 100 crore in China and has created some new records as well.
China is still viewed to be a patriarchal society but the masses have connected with Dangal. Aamir is among the most popular Indian actors for the Chinese who also are fans of South Koreans artistes. With Dangal doing great business in China, the actor said he feels that films like it do not have any language or culture barrier and have a global connect. “I suppose people have loved the film. This kind of films does not have any language or culture barriers. These are human stories which connect to everybody, irrespective of their language or region.

“So this is the beauty of creative things… that they do not have any national or political boundaries.” Asked whether he is receiving any messages from his Chinese fans, he said: “I am getting many messages from China, the way they are reacting on social media as well is making me very happy.”
