Baahubali 2: Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions of the SS Rajamouli blockbuster dominate at the Chennai Box Office

Baahubali is on a record spree all around. These Box Office records that SS Rajamouli film has made in Chennai also deserve a look

SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 is doing unbelievable business at the Chennai Box Office. The war drama, which had released on April 28, 2017 is still dominating the Chennai Box Office even after completing its second weekend. The film is running to packed houses in majority of screens across the Chennai city. Interestingly, the Tamil dubbed version of the film is competing with the Telugu and Hindi versions of the film at the Chennai Box Office.

On its second weekend, Tamil Baahubali 2 had 650 shows with 90% occupancy across the cinemas of Chennai. The film had minted a whopping Rs 2.50 crore on its second weekend, which is now a new record in the city.

Similar to its Tamil version, the Telugu dubbed version of the film too had a great second weekend at the Chennai Box Office. On its second weekend, the Prabhas and Rana Daggubati starrer was screened in 110 shows in 10 cinemas across the Chennai city. The Telugu Baahubali 2 had minted nearly Rs 30 lakh on its second weekend with 90% occupancy at the Chennai Box Office. The total collections of Telugu Baahubali 2 now stands at Rs 1.25 crore and also emerged as the first Rs 1 crore Telugu grosser at the Chennai Box Office.

The Hindi dubbed version of Baahubali 2 had a limited release, still that hasn’t stopped the film to rake in good moolah from the Chennai Box Office. The film was screened in only 35 shows across the Chennai city, yet Baahubali 2 managed to clock a good Rs 7 lakh at the Chennai Box Office. By the end of it’s second weekend, the film has collected an impressive Rs 15 lakh in the city.

The total combined collections of 3 languages of Baahubali 2 at the end of second weekend is Rs 9.40 crore at Chennai Box Office. The film also surpasses the all-time grosser record of Rs 9.20 crore set by the 2016 Rajinikanth blockbuster Kabali.

Baahubali 2 features Prabhas in dual roles as father-son duo along with Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Sathyaraj, Ramyakrishnan and Nassar.
