Fawad Khan in ADHM to Ranbir Kapoor in YJHD: 7 times the wrong guy 'got the girl' in Bollywood movies

From Ali getting married to Alizeh in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil to Anjali forgetting everything and accepting Rahul's love in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, here are 7 instances when the wrong guy got the girl

Getting the woman of your dream is never easy. It’s difficult to see the woman you love with everything falling for someone else, particularly when the man she falls doesn’t even make enough efforts to win her. But love is blind and way too complex a feeling to be graded and tested before finally falling for it. The only solace you can draw is from the fact that even our super hot filmy heroes fail to stop their dream women from falling for the wrong guy.

Here’s our pick of the Bollywood babes who fell for the wrong guy when Mr.sweet and nice was silently crying not only for his misfortune but her’s as well.

It is so unfair to see an irrational Alizeh (Anushka Sharma) walk away with Ali (Fawad Khan) while Ayan (Ranbir Kapoor) did everything possible in a man’s capacity to win her, to forget her –failing to both. Ali was a total douchebag to Alizeh. He cheated on her, and then came back marry her as per his convenience. Even after getting married, he failed to address her trust issues. But Ayan could never stop caring about Alizeh. Even when she was diagnosed with the last phase of cancer in the second half of the film and friend zoned him for the second time. He made sure, he stood by her till her last breath.

Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai:

This is a total no-brainer. Why would a girl fall for a man who chose the hot chick in college over her? Why would she fall for a man who objectifies women and rates them according to their looks? Why would she choose a man who realises her worth only after stumbling upon the sight of her bare midriff on a stormy day?

Why would she choose a man who mouths dialogues like “isko maa ke saamne nahi le ja sakte” or something to that effect? Why Anjali why? Why would you choose Rahul (SRK) over Aman (Salman Khan)? The latter was good-looking, loved your mother, accepted you the way you were, even knowing you didn’t love him as much as he loved you. Why Anjali, we still wonder.

For the larger part of the film Saawariya (2007), Imaan (Salman Khan) was nowhere to be seen. His relationship with Sakina (Sonam Kapoor) was full of absenteeism and her seeking recluse in Raj (Ranbir Kapoor). But Imaan walked away with the girl, leaving Raj heartbroken. A man who made no efforts to establish contact with the girl he loved or cared to ask about her well-being, was finally reunited with her. The one who did not get a fair cut from this deal was Raj.

Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit in Dil Toh Pagal Hai

What is with women of Bollywood movies falling for the wrong guy? In Dil Toh Pagal Hai (1997), Pooja (Madhuri Dixit) falls heads over heels for Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan), when there was a man called Ajay (Akshay Kumar) who was perfect for her. While Ajay was quite clear about what he wanted in life, Rahul seemed confused throughout. Also, Rahul was really mean to Nisha (Karisma Kapoor) on occasions, despite the fact that she was his best friend and had feelings for her. If nothing else, Pooja should have rejected for the way he treated Nisha and just went on with her life with Ajay.

Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani:

The 2013 Ayan Mukerji directorial is a classic example of people not treating others well. Bunny (Ranbir Kapoor) was so full of himself that he thought it was completely fine to barge in and out of people’s lives as he pleased. How Bunny treated Naina (Deepika Padukone) was absurd. After seeing her with another man named Vikram (Rana Daggubatti), Bunny lost his cool. On learning, Naina loved him, Bunny did not know what to do. Agreed, he came back to Naina putting his dreams on hold, but given the kind of person, Bunny was, chances are he would have ditched Naina for another adventure in life.

The 1989 release Chandni is probably one of the most romantic movies all times. The love angle of the movie would have been far better if Chandni (Sridevi) chose Lalit Khanna (Vinod Khanna) over Rohit Gupta (Rishi Kapoor). After going through an accident which crippled him for life, Rohit resorting to mentally torturing Chandni, buried under his own insecurities, Just when Chandni was about to move on in her life with Lalit, Rohit made a dramatic re-entry. He got Chandni’s love when he clearly did not deserve it.

There is something so sad about the characters which Jimmy Shergill plays in movies. He rarely gets the love back he so freely showers on female characters in movies. The Tanu Weds Manu franchise treated this man really unfairly. In the first part, Raju Awasthi did all he could do to keep Tanuja (Kangana Ranaut) in his life, but she chose Manu (Madhavan). In the sequel, when she did come back to him, it was only as a rebound. Poor Awasthi Ji was fine with that too, but then Manu got the girl again.
