Uttar Pradesh Elections 2017: One Congress leader is the butt of all jokes, PM Narendra Modi mocks Rahul Gandhi

Amid 'Modi-Modi' chant from the people gathered at Bijnor, PM started his address by remembering Sant Ravidas on his 640th birth anniversary and apologising for visiting Bijnor so late.

Just a few hours to go for the first phase of the state assembly polls to commence in Uttar Pradesh while Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Bijnor to campaign for the Bhartiya Janata Party for the polls.

Amid ‘Modi-Modi’ chant from the people gathered at Bijnor, PM started his address by remembering Sant Ravidas on his 640th birth anniversary and apologising for visiting Bijnor so late. But soon he took the turn to blaze his guns against the recently formed Samajwadi Party and Congress alliance in the state.

Taking a dig on the ruling Samajwadi party, PM Modi asked the entire crowd.”Should we sustain a government which embraces crime and the government which can’t ensure women safety, do not promote development and can’t fulfill the aspirations of youth in the state?”

PM Modi asserted that when the power holders of the state felt that BJP might turn into a ‘big deal’, they got scared and allied with Congress. He said,”The powerholders were frightened and thought to mingle with Congres saying, Aa gale lag jaa (let’s hug each other).”

“This alliance is not an alliance of two parties. It is an alliance of two clans, one hails from Delhi and another from Saifai. One ruined the nation for 70 years and the other came time-to-time in power and ruined Uttar Pradesh.  In order to save UP, the voters must reject them,” he added.

Continuing with his funny instances, he further targeted Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and described how the entire internet is filled with the jokes made on him. He said,”I’ve never seen a political leader who has uncountable jokes on his name. Agar aap Google par jaayen aur dekhen, shayad kisi neta par itne chutkule nahi honge jitne Congress ke neta par hain (If you ever surf google, you will find that no other leader gets trolled by jokes more than this leader from Congress).”

Further, PM Modi focused on the heated issue of women safety across the state. Citing several cases of rape happened in recent times, he condemned the actions of the administration and accused the top leaders, including CM Akhilesh Yadav, of letting off the matter and blaming the media. He said,”What were SP leaders saying after unfortunate instances of rape in the state? And then the CM also blamed the media.”

Talking about the present status of the farmers in Uttar Pradesh, PM assured that as soon as BJP comes in power, small scale farmers will get relaxations over the loans taken. He said,”The present government is an anti-farmer government. When the BJP will come in powers, small-scale cultivators will be freed from their loans. Instead of forcefully ensuring the wheat crops, we will discuss the issue with the farmers and then take action.”

“Also, after coming in power, a Chaudhary Charan Singh Kalyan Kosh‘ will be launched with an initial funding of Rs 800 crore to help the farmers across the state,” he added.
