'UP ko ye saath pasand hai', Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav to begin joint poll campaign

the duo will campaign with a tagline - UP ko ye saath pasand hai", in their maiden campaign since Congress and SP joined hands to form a political alliance in the state.

In order to enrich the Congress-Samajwadi Party alliance in Uttar Pradesh to report a massive win in the upcoming elections, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi will hold a joint roadshow on January 29.

This rally will be the maiden campaign together for both the party leaders after Congress and SP amalgamated to form a political alliance in the state. Moreover, the duo will campaign with a tagline – “UP ko ye saath pasand hai “(UP relishes this alliance), in order to convey the message that the 2 parties were their choice as they go to vote. The roadshow will conclude with a joint press conference.

On January 22, both the parties formally announced their alliance in a press conference ahead of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections. Congress leader Raj Babbar asserted that the party hoped the alliance will send out a positive message and that the party will work hard for the development of the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Clarifying the doubtful talks doing round, it was also announced that the Samajwadi Party will have 298 candidates, while the Congress will contest for 105 seats.

While the echo of this announcement of the alliance did not last long, even the first three rallies of CM Akhilesh Yadav in Sultanpur and Lakhimpur Kheri have not gone down too well.

“The biggest challenge before us is to impress upon the people our coming together, which as of now appears to be a daunting task, keeping in mind the lack of time,” said a senior Akhilesh aide.

However, both the sides have expedited work on joint rallies, and Akhilesh and Gandhi are likely to address 14 joint rallies. The two are likely to be joined by Kannauj MP Dimple Yadav and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra at selected places. The campaign posters will also feature the pictures of Sonia and Priyanka Gandhi.
