'I took 4.5 crore loan to buy Lamborghini': Mulayam's son Prateek Yadav opens up

Prateek Yadav, younger son of Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh , has dismissed the furore over his Rs 5 crore Lamborghini car.

Steering clear of the controversy, Yadav said, “I bought the car on loan, have all the papers, and also Income tax, so why this controversy.” Mr Yadav was speaking with news agency ANI.

Ahead of crucial Uttar Pradesh elections, SP’s political opponents have targetted the party high-command alleging that the Yadav’s have misused public fund to turn their fortunes.

The Bharatiya Janata Party had in January released a video on Facebook taking a dig on the Samajwadi Party ahead of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

The 2-minute video shows Prateek flaunting his Lamborghini speeding away on the streets of Lucknow as onlookers click pictures with it.

Underlining that he owns business of real estate and gyms, the half brother of UP CM said, ” If I had invested Rs 5 crore in property then no one would have said anything.”

Prateek also clarified that he has no interest in politics, he would rather focus on his business.

” I am not at all interested in politics, if I had to become a politician I would have long back. I am focused on my business,” he said.

“ I have my own business, If I had invested 5 crores in property then no one would have said anything,” he added.

The Junior Yadav also expressed confidence that his wife Aparna (Yadav) will win the UP elections.

” Aparna will surely win from Lucknow Cantt, she has already done a lot of work for the area,” Prateek said.
