Miffed with Akhilesh, 'chacha' Shivpal Yadav to form his new party

This comes after Akhilesh Yadav announced SP's alliance with the Congress party, Shivpal said that he will campaign with those rejected by Akhilesh.

In a sudden move, younger brother of Samajwadi Party Supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, Shivpal Yadav on January 31 announced that he will form a new party after March 11. While addressing a rally in Etawah ahead of Uttar Pradesh elections, Shivpal affirmed that he will campaign with the people who were not given tickets by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

It could also be assumed that Shivpal took a jibe at Akhilesh when he said that, “people who said that whatever they are, was because of Netaji and then went on to insult him.” However, Shivpal stated that he will contest elections from Samajwadi Party but will only form a new party after March 11.

This comes days after Akhilesh Yadav announced an alliance with the Congress in the upcoming Assembly election. It was being reported that Mulayam Singh Yadav did not agree with Akhilesh’s decision and said that SP did not need alliance to win the elections.

Meanwhile, Akhilesh Yadav has also called the alliance a people’s alliance. When Samajwadi Party announced the list of 191 candidates for the first three phases, the list included UP CM Akhilesh Yadav’s estranged uncle Shivpal Yadav. SP has given 105 seats to the Congress and has kept 298 seats for themselves.

The seven-phase assembly elections are beginning on February 11 and counting of it will start on March 11.
