Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2017: PM Narendra Modi cannot sleep without staying in news

It is sad that there was an earthquake in Uttarakhand, and Modi ji just for publicity made fun of it in the Parliament, said Rahul

In a strong reaction to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘raincoat’ remark on Manmohan Singh, Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi said that he is the first prime minister who cannot talk decently about his predecessors .

Alleging that the prime minister is news hungry,  the Gandhi scion said that Mr Modi can have a night sleep if he does not stay in news.

Mr Gandhi was addressing a rally in Aligarh where he questioned PM  Modi’s contribution to the development of Uttar Pradesh.

“When Modi ji speaks in this way, he not only insulted Manmohan ji but the people of the entire nation,” he added.

“It is sad that there was an earthquake in Uttarakhand, and Modi ji just for publicity made fun of it in the Parliament,” Rahul said.

On February 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a dig at former prime minister Manmohan Singh and said the former prime minister knows how to take a shower while wearing raincoat.

The Prime Minister jibe was targetted at rampant corruption during erstwhile UPA regime helmed by Manmohan Singh. He was speaking during a debate on the motion of thanks to the President’s joint address to Parliament.

“Not a single corruption charge against Manmohan Singh that too during the most corrupt government. The art of taking bath wearing raincoat in bathroom can be learnt from Mr. Singh”, he said.

Reacting on the ‘raincoat’ jibe, Rahul took to twitter and wrote “when a Prime Minister reduces himself to ridiculing his predecessor-years his senior, he hurts the dignity of the parliament and the nation.” He added, “He demeans his position and himself more than anyone else. Today’s events were saddening and frankly they were shameful,”.
