70 pc of Punjab youth addicted to drugs, says Rahul, promises strong law to curb the menace

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi has arrived Punjab on January 27 for a 3-day long election campaign.

Ahead of the assembly polls in Punjab, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi today attacked the ruling Badal family from the stage of Majitha for ruining Punjab and also alleged for deteriorating the condition of Punjab youth.

Rahul, during his rally in Majitha, also alleged that the 70% of the youth ion the state are addicted to drugs. He further promised to bring a strong law against drugs in the state if Congress comes into power.

Congress President Capt. Amrinder Singh and newly joined leader Navjot Singh Sidhu were also present at the rally.

Rahul further assured the Punjab residents that the Congress Party will win the upcoming polls massively and the next Chief Minister of the state will be Captain Amrinder Singh.

  • Drug is the biggest problem in Punjab. People are leaving the state now.
  • Farmers in the state are upset, as the government is not looking at them. Badal family helped their dear and near ones, but not the common people of the state.
  • Punjab used to give strength to the country. it is a land of five rivers. The state helped the country to grow.

Congress have fielded Capt Amrinder Singh in Lambi against the current Chief Minister of the state, Prakash Singh Badal while Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal would be a strong competition from Jalalabad. However, Bhagwant Mann will be the candidate from AAP at Jalalabad. It will be a triangular contest among Congress, SAD-BJP and  AAP across the state of Punjab.

The state will vote on February 4 and the counting will take place on March 11.
