India’s First-Ever Dog Park Is Set To Open In Hyderabad And We Can't Keep Calm

The park boasts of a separate center for professional dog trainers along with a play area, an amphitheater and a separate section for small and big dogs.

We can all agree that Hyderabad just earned the envy of dog lovers across the country with its first-ever dog park where doggos can just go and chill. Spread across a sprawling area of 1.3 acres, the park, located at a prime hub near Radisson Hotel in Gachibowli, boasts of a play area, an amphitheatre and a separate section for small and big dogs.

The park also has a separate walkway with benches shaped like bones specially made for dogs and their parents to enjoy a perfect day out together. It is the first park for pets in India that has been created matching the international standards and certified by the Kennel Club of India.

Along with all the other facilities, the park also has provisions for persons with disabilities and their dog helpers. There is a separate area for them to exercise and enjoy outdoor activities without any fear of accidents.

“Pet parks are common in foreign countries, but in India, we do not have any such facility and pets are usually not allowed into regular parks. We built the park on a dump yard that was lying barren and the entire set up took around 6 months to build. There is an entry ticket fee for both dogs and visitors to the park,” Rajendra Kumar, an official with the Urban Biodiversity Wing of the GHMC, told The News Minute.

The park is built on a small dumpyard and reportedly costs about Rs 1.1 crore. Municipal and Urban Administration minister KT Rama Rao even posted about it on Twitter.

The park is the brainchild of IAS officer and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Zonal Commissioner Harichandana, reports suggest.
