Malayalee billionaire M.A. Yusuff Ali has turned the old Scotland Yard building in London into a seven-story 5-star luxury hotel. Located in Whitehall in central London, the iconic structure once housed the famed Metropolitan Police Service. It was bought by Yusuff Ali’s Lulu Group in 2015 at the cost of Rs 1,000 cr (approx). It was later redesigned for Rs 680 cr by UK’s Galliard Homes. The hotel consists of 150 rooms & 11 suites and will be managed by the Hyatt Group. The per night tariff is expected to be around Rs 9 lakh. It will be open to the public by the end of 2019. Yusuff Ali who hails from Thrissur, Kerala is one of the wealthiest Indians and owns the biggest hypermarket chain in the Middle East.
