When David Yates’ Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them first came out, it was a huge hit. The film garnered a positive response from critics and fans alike in spite of a few swing-and-a-miss moments. However, thanks to Screen Junkies, the movie is finally getting what it deserves. The popular Youtube channel chose Fantastic Beasts, which is set in the Harry Potter universe, for its Honest Trailer series and the fan favourite film has been brutally torn apart.

Describing the J.K. Rowling book as a “real fake textbook based on a fake real textbook briefly mentioned in two Harry Potter books,” the video calls Fantastic Beasts a “five-part sequel that isn’t off to the best start.” Okay, maybe it wasn’t the best but that is actually kind of harsh.
This honest trailer mocks the inclusion of not-so-creative slangs like ‘No-Maj’, the continued muggle racism and “state-sponspored murder jacuzzis” (Ref: Tina’s sentencing incident).

One thing that Potterheads very casually ignored in Fantastic Beasts is Eddie Redmayne’s portrayal of Newt Scamander is not that distinct from his other roles. Newt himself is an item of his own. He continues to claim that the beasts in his suitcase aren’t dangerous. “Please don’t hurt my creatures, they aren’t dangerous,” he says when the whole movie is literally about them barely making it out alive upon encountering these fantastically destructive yet, “innocent” beasts.
