Why this "Muslim Christmas song" is attracting both love and hate

While some people celebrated the fact that the song transcended cultural and religious boundary, others were pretty vexed about the song

Egyptian-American singer Raef Haggag had recently uploaded his latest song ‘The Muslim Christmas song’, a cover of the Christmas carol ‘Deck The Halls’. The song has been sung in Arabic and has sparked a debate on social media as people fail to wrap their heads around the thought of a fusion of Islam and Christianity.

While some people celebrated the fact that the song transcended cultural and religious boundary, others were pretty vexed about it. Netizens are arguing that Raef goes against Islam because “music is haram in Islam.” There were a few others who deemed the song inappropriate for being disrespectful to Jesus Christ and the true essence of Christmas.
