YouTube has officially released YouTube Rewind, which reminds us that 2017 is about to end. Yep, let that kick in. We’re already a week into December.
As is the tradition, YouTube’s list of top global videos was announced on Wednesday and Luis Fonsi’s Despacito took home the top honours. In India, the music video that topped the list is, Badrinath Ki Dulhania‘s title track that garnered more than 320 million views in just 10 months.
Coming to original YouTube content, the list was quite surprising. No AIB or EIC, this year the person who topped the list was BB ki Vines. The list has a bunch of viral videos, with only other YouTuber on India’s top 10 being Zakir Khan.
This was the first time that a mainstream interview made it to the top trending list- all thanks to Kangana Ranaut and her super engaging interview on Aap Ki Adalat.

4) That Dumb Friend In Every Group – Amit Bhadana
YouTuber Amit Bhadana’s take on the ‘piñata’ of the group garnered over 11M views to become the 4th most viewed YouTube video. Checkout the misadventures of Amit and his friends in this hilarious video:
5) Unique Rangoli Design using Chalni
This video went viral because everyone loved the artist used ingenious yet simplistic methods of making a beautiful rangoli using everyday household items like sieves and bottle-caps. Check the video out:

The biggest Bollywood controversy of the year made it to the YouTube list! Kangana’s super entertaining interview on Aap ki adalat is the first mainstream interview to make to it YouTube’s trending list. Watch it right here:
7) This dance cover of Cheez Badi
Jeya Raveendran’s dance cover on the most hyped song of the year got over 12M views and went massively viral on Facebook and YouTube. He was one of the first few to make a dance cover of this song. Check out their crazy choreography right here:

9) Zakir Khan – Life Mein Chahiye Izzat!
Funny man Zakir Khan became a household name this year with all of his videos racking up millions of views. His video ‘life main chahiye izzat’ got over 11M views and was featured on YouTube’s list.
