The AV HERALD confirmed that the contact between aircraft and ATC was briefly lost and contact was restored a few minutes later. Germany’s Air Force deployed their jets to ensure the safety of aircraft and its passengers.

The radio contact with the aircraft was lost somewhere between Bratislava and Prague Center. An alleged swap of digits is being suspected. According to reports, the crew tuned 132.980MHz while the correct frequency was 132.890MHz.

Jet Airways has reported the matter to the concerned authorities and as part of their standard process, both pilots of the flight have been de-rostered pending investigation.

Ah, the little joys of flying.
