Snapchat-Snapdeal, Sonu Sood-Sonu Nigam & now Sagarika Ghatge-Sagarika Ghose. India, you okay?

When Zaheer Khan announced his engagement to actress Sagarika Ghatge, you cannot expect anything apart from happy wishes. Or wait, can you?

You know it’s time for celebration when one of India’s best left-arm seamer gets engaged. Monday blues surely went away when Delhi Daredevils captain Zaheer Khan announced his engagement to actor Sagarika Ghatge of Chak De! India fame. Cricket fans who are truly living it up this IPL season rejoiced on Twitter once the news broke with the charismatic bowler tweeting out the cutest declaration. The 38-year-old cricketer tweeted a picture of him and his to-be-bride flaunting a beautiful ring on her finger.

The lovely actress, who famously dated a cricketer in reel life (a la, Chak De) and will be marrying one for real, went on to share the news with the world. She tweeted “Partners for Life #engaged.”

Twitter exploded as many wishes poured in for the lovely couple. But as the last month has showed – Twitter cannot even with names right now. After trolling Sonu Sood for Sonu Nigam’s comments and downgrading and uninstalling Snapdeal for Snapchat co-founder’s alleged poor India quote, it was but natural that someone would confuse between the many Sagarikas of the world, with the one who just got engaged.

Starting the epic series of goofups, was former cricketer and current Head Coach of the Indian Cricket Team – Anil Kumble. The former spin bowler congratulated the couple, tagging journalist Sagarika Ghose, instead of the actress. Following suit was Delhi Daredevils, whose Twitter account also went on to tag Sagarika Ghose, who for the record is married to journalist Rajdeep Sardesai.

The journalist cleared the air by reminding them that they tagged the wrong Sagarika:

Both Delhi Daredevils and Anil Kumble corrected their tweets quickly but the damage had already been done.

But hawkish Twitterati are too quick to spot a goof-up and the trolls bombarded:

India, you okay?
