We all have had one or the other disgusting experiences that makes it difficult to face those very same things again. Whether it is the aftertaste of milk gone bad or worms you might have seen crawling on a plate of roadside chowmein, there are some instances that just leave a bad taste in your mouth. Literally. There are some daredevils who manage to bring all of this on themselves as a matter of some challenge and others who encounter such bad luck through sheer chance. It takes a good unfortunate soul to attract some weird insect or bug right into your mouth.

This Quora thread brought together the most disgusting experiences they have had when they were faced with some creepy crawly creatures in their food. Quora users list the most disgusting things that have gone inside their mouths in this thread What is the most disgusting thing that ever went into your mouth?

These stories from Quora will make you wretch:

When Kearsten Hendershott took on the boys to show them what girls are made of:

At outdoor school, sneaking behind the counselor’s backs, the tradition was upheld. I managed to be the only girl in the worm eating contest. This was a result of my fierce competitiveness and a strong will to take down the boys in our class.

To answer your original question: 9 worms is the most disgusting thing(s) that ever went into my mouth. Victory has never tasted so sweet.

When Gerry Sankara‘s drinking experience became a nightmare

I was at a bar… the night was winding down… So I decided to swig the last of the beer from my bottle. I immediately felt something go down my throat. I panicked and ran to the bathroom, putting my finger down my throat to vomit.OMG!!! PLEASE GOD NO!!!…My finger went right back down my throat. I knew that if that thing came out of me, then something else was still in me. I kept vomiting until I finally saw what I wanted desperately to come out. The most useless disgusting bug in existence! A pregnant roach had made its way into my beer bottle. And YES! The BI*** was still alive.

When Ashton Pravin had a terrible experience in Uganda

Last year I went for a trip to Uganda and after a few visits I stopped by a local restaurant to have lunch. Common/staple food better known as Matoke (Cooked green banana) was served, warm and spicyWashed my hands, grabbed that fork and picked my dish, ready to grade my diet. First bite and SQUAASHHH there goes the slug’s guts spilling all over my mouth! Never tased matoke before but I was pretty sure they weren’t that fleshy and slippery. Spit it out and all hell my tongue needs a vacuum clean up!

When someone found a dead cockroach in his chocolate milk – Zachary Hilton

I found a container of my beloved, Nesquik, in the cupboard. It seemed a little old, but really how bad could a dried powder get right? Especially in a container that snaps shut. WELL PRETTY BAD IT CAN GET. I drank this Nesquik for two days, probably a 8oz of powder total, mixed with milk (of the bovine persuasion). I noticed these little beads of Nesquik weren’t really dissolving on the first day and figured “well, it’s old, so maybe the sugar crystallized or the chocolate powder solidified, whatever, I’m happy I have this.” Minor stomach ache ensued… Second morning, repeat drink creation, same little beady things, but now curiosity has gotten to me and I’m going to make these little fuckers dissolve by crushing them with my spoon against the side of my glass. LOW AND BEHOLD this was not crystallized sugar or solidified chocolate. I had been drinking cockroach larva. FOR TWO DAYS. I immediately ran into the bathroom and forced myself to vomit until I figured I was purged of the little bastards.
