Hate April Fool's Day pranks? 5 things you can do instead

Why play pranks when you can do so much better!

It’s April Fool’s Day and everyone is busy planning pranks on their friends, family members and colleagues. While there are some who would go to great lengths to make people laugh (PS: you can get creative with skulls and creepy joker masks), there are others who keep it simple and stick to the traditional pranks involving prank calls, silly jokes and unexpected announcements.

But that’s not it as there some people who not only resent being fooled on the April Fool’s Day but also hate playing pranks on others. These people believe in the ‘simple living and high thinking’ (in their defence: no one likes to be mocked) and so they do something more productive with their time.

So, if you happen to be one of those who would rather enjoy a quiet weekend than torture (aka play pranks), we have some ideas that might help:

Go on a mini trip
One of the easiest (and the best) ways to escape the pranks is to go on a mini trip. You can either take a friend or pack your bags and go on an adventure trip alone. For people staying close to Delhi and surrounding areas, holiday spots like Rishikesh, Jaipur, Nainital and Mussoorie are ideal and well within the budget.

Drink with your buddies
Granted that it may not be the ideal time, but you can spend April Fool’s day by catching up with your long lost friends (that is if they believe that you are not playing a prank). Pick a place, order some snacks and get some drinks. Who says you can’t have a blast?! (Bonus: Many beer cafes are giving special discounts during Navratris)

Binge watch horror movies
It’s ok if you don’t like getting spooked, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the thrill. Stream them online or get DVDs, watching horror movies is always fun.

Go on a shopping spree
Researches suggest that shopping can help to lift your mood. Well, April Fool’s day is yet another excuse to go on a shopping spree. From books to clothes, from handbags to those stylish headphones, take a break from your hectic routine and buy some of that stuff that you have been avoiding for so long.

Pamper yourself
Whether you are a college student or a working professional, you deserve a break from your back-breaking routine to enjoythe greater joys of life. Go on a date with yourself (movie followed by a nice meal), treat yourself with a spa date or simply give yourself a nice head massage. You totally deserve it!
