Why is a Dog named Huckleberry always hanging out on its owners' roof?

Meet Huckleberry, who is a pro at jumping from his owners' backyard to the rooftop of their house and has now become an internet sensation.

In one Austin neighbourhood in Texas, there is a dog who is always on the roof. Huckleberry, who has this unusual habit of hanging out on the roof, is a golden retriever and has become the source of viral attention. From neighbours to passer-bys, people began expressing their concern assuming that the dog was trapped or could not get down safely. This prompted Huckleberry’s owners to put out a sign ‘Don’t Be Alarmed’.  The sign was followed by a note that claimed that the owners were perfectly aware of dog’s whereabouts and the safety of the canine was not something to worry about. Huck’s proud owners, Allie Burnitt and Justin Lindenmuth, are now used to people being alarmed by their dog’s roof time.

“We never leave him in the backyard without someone being at home. He will not jump off unless you entice him with food or a ball! We appreciate your concern but please do not knock on our door… We know he’s up there! But please feel free to take pictures of him and share with the world!”

The owner went on to create a hashtag #hucktheroofdog and Twitterati can’t seem to be able to handle the cute dog’s antics on the rooftop. Huck seems to have attracted national attention with Twitter users posting their desire to go and pay the dog on the roof a visit. From prime time shows on national networks like ABC to neighbours posting Huck’s daily voyages on the roof across social media platforms, this dog has become the trendsetter for all adventurous canines and won the hearts of many.
