He's Muslim, she's Hindu and their 'no nikah, no phera' wedding video has gone viral

From the moment Junaid Shaikh and Garima Joshi started dating, they knew their relationship would not last but, fate proved them wrong.

Be it caste, religion, financial status or just regular old conflicts, there are too many barriers that need to be overcome. And God forbid if you ever think of a Hindu-Muslim wedding.  When Junaid Shaikh started dating Garima Joshi, he felt that their relationship came with an expiration date. Fortunately, fate had planned it differently and their families whole-heartedly accepted them. Their love proved to be stronger than any religious prejudices and they were finally to become man and wife. As Junaid put it, it was the best day of his life so it also had to be a celebration like no other.

“We’re not doing a nikah, we’re not doing pheras,” Junaid said. “We are just having a celebration. It’s a celebration of two cultures and two families.” And that it was. Their wedding was just a huge celebration where the couple’s families came together to “#ShaikhItWithJosh”.

Posted by Shutterdown, the video went viral and the couple is now being celebrated for becoming one against all odds. “Awwww…This video can only bring a smile and tears of joy 🙂 ! Mabrook mabrook Junaid and Garima,” wrote one Facebook user.
