"That's Why This Man Loves Pakistan So Much": SRK Gets Trolled As Cousin Gears Up For Pak Elections

Shah Rukh Khan’s paternal cousin Noor Jehan will be contesting the upcoming general elections in Pakistan from a constituency in Peshawar

Seems like whenever Shah Rukh Khan has an opinion to express, trolls rush to social media to slam the Bollywood actor and the most common way they do it is by asking him to ‘go to Pakistan’. But this time SRK didn’t even have anything to say yet the army of trolls didn’t hold back and attacked him as soon as the news of his cousin contesting elections in Pakistan broke.

According to Pakistani daily Express Tribune, Shah Rukh Khan’s paternal cousin Noor Jehan will be contesting the upcoming general elections from a constituency in Peshawar.

Even though SRK had nothing to say on the family connection, that was not a problem for those bent on questioning the actor’s ‘Indianness’. In a series of tweets, many highlighted SRK’s “love for Pakistan” and some even speculated if he would “campaign for her”.

Some even brought back focus on SRK’s statements in 2010 when he said that players from Pakistan should have been picked in the IPL and working with actress Mahira Khan in Raees to back their statements.

But the good part is, fans refused to leave SRK’s side, asserting that many Indians had relatives in Pakistan because of Partition.

Jehan will be contesting from PK-77 constituency as an Independent candidate. While speaking about her focus issues, Jehan told Express Tribune: “I want to work for women’s empowerment… I’d like to focus on the problems in my constituency.”

The general elections in Pakistan will be held on July 25, 2018.
