In the year 2017, we witnessed numerous unforgettable incidents occurring in the world of cricket. A lot of international records were smashed and replaced by the new ones. A few new generation cricketers, including Virat Kohli, Steven Smith, Joe Root emerged as the modern-era greats and garnered appreciations from people across the world.

At the same time, there were instances when cricketers’ way of celebrating special moments on the field created a buzz on the social media.

And, before the year ends, we bring you some of those amazing moments which we are sure you would like to watch again and again.

1. Grant Elliot’s bat drop in PSL

Though the match-winning six by Grant Elliot was the main reason for the Lahore Qalandars to erupt in happiness, his act of dropping the bat became an unforgettable incident.

In a PSL match between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United, Elliot’s 26-run knock off 17 balls turned out to be the game changer. While chasing a target of 146 runs, Qalandars have lost 9 wickets and they needed 6 runs from last balls. The Kiwi all-rounder hit a gigantic six to wrap up the game and drooped the bat signifying that the mission is accomplished.

2. Darren Sammy Selfie moment

It is a well-known fact that the West Indies cricketers can beat every other player when it comes to celebrating any particular moment during a game. Be it a wicket or a match victory, they always have some new item in their bag to present in front of the viewers.

In a PSL 2017 final between Peshawar Zalmi skipper Darren Sammy, who was a fielding at the first slip, took a brilliant dive catch to dismiss Quetta Gladiators’ Hasan Khan. After grabbing the ball, he gathered all his teammates and pretended to take a group selfie. The Zalmis won the game by 58 runs and lifted the trophy.

3. Gurkeerat Singh Mann’s century celebration in Ranji Trophy

Punjab’s Gurkeerat Mann scored a magnificent century against the Chhattisgarh team in Ranji Trophy season 2017-18. But it was not his century that hogged the limelight. As he got the ton, Mann left his bat on the ground and then abruptly, laid down on the ground as if he was posing! he did all this after waiving the bat to acknowledge his teammates in the dressing room.

4. Tabraiz Shamsi’s phone celebration in Carribean Premier League 2017

The incident happened during a CPL 2017 game when Kumara Sangakarra’s Jamaica Tallawahs were chasing 209 runs against the Chris Gyle led St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. On a delivery by Tabraiz Shamsi, Jamaica’s opener Glenn Phillips attempted a lofted shot towards the long-on region but was unfortunately caught by Shamarh Brooks. Out of happiness, Shamsi took out of his shoe and put it on his ears like a mobile phone.

It was something new from Shamsi who usually used to perform the truck drivers moves after taking a wicket.

5. Murali Vijay Dab against Sri Lanka

Indian opener Murali Vijay was inducted into the team after Shikhar Dhawan took a break due to family reasons. He played two matches against Sri Lanka and scored centuries in both the games. In Nagpur, he scored 128 while in Delhi he got another century while batting alongside skipper Virat Kohli. As soon as he reached his ton, he performed a Dab step along with the captain.
