Visually Impaired South African Cricketer Creates History With Double Century in T20 Cricket

Frederik Boer's double century in T20 cricket will make even AB de Villiers his fan

Whereas hitting a double century is still a far-fetched dream for the likes of Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli & others in T20 cricket, South Africa’s visually impaired batsman Frederik Boer has turned it into a reality. Boer stunned everyone by scoring a double century in T20 cricket on October 2, in the Blind Cricket South Africa national tournament.

The Boland batsman scored a mind-boggling 205 runs off just 78 deliveries at a formidable strike rate of 263. It was not a Chris Gayle-esque innings from Boer as he relied on fours rather than towering sixes.

The percentage of boundaries in his double century was as high as 87.80 strike rate. According to Times Live, his innings was studded with 39 fours and 4 sixes.

Even after the record innings, Boer was humble and thankful for all the love from people on Facebook. Here’s what Boer had to say after his historic innings:
