Troubles seem to have an endless affair with Royal Challengers Bangalore this season as their fiery young batsman has been ruled out of the tournament

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) does not seem to have a good time before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 opener on April 5. Another player adds to the injury list or we should say ‘Injured Premier League list’. This time around it is the youngster Sarfaraz Khan who has been injured and been ruled out of the tournament. The youngster has been playing for RCB from previous two seasons and one of the most explosive batsmen in the team.

According to a leading news publishing website, Sarfaraz Khan suffered an injury while fielding in a practice match at Bengaluru. The intensity of the injury he suffered was such that he was carried off the field on a stretcher. Soon enough RCB officials released the information that he will not be playing in IPL 2017.

Sarfaraz was seen limping in the dressing room because of his injury. The bad news is just pouring in for RCB. First, it was skipper Virat Kohli’s shoulder injury at Ranchi Test. then AB de Villiers too is unlikely to play in the first few matches. Fiery opener KL Rahul too will be undergoing surgery due to his shoulder injury he incurred in the Pune Test. And now, Sarfaraz Khan, their fiery middle-lower oder batsman who has a strike rate of 173.52 has been ruled out of the tournament.

RCB’s mentor Daniel Vettori revealed on April 3, that in absence of Kohli and De Villiers, former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson will be leading the side on April 5, IPL 10 opener against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Vettori said, “Owing to a leg injury during the final Bangalore based practice match session, Sarfaraz Khan will most likely be unavailable to play as a part of the RCB squad this VIVO IPL and we are evaluating the same with the BCCI,”

“Sarfaraz was one of the choices that RCB looked upon to partner Gayle in the absence of Kohli.Vettori concluded by saying, “His absence will be definitely felt on-field and we wish him a speedy recovery,” he added.
