Amidst the drama, Nadal and Solbas eventually emerged victorious against Maya and McEnroe

Tennis ace Rafael Nadal halted an exhibition fixture when the crowd reacted to a distraught mother sobbing and shouting because she had lost her young daughter.

The 30-year-old Spaniard was about to serve during a doubles exhibition match alongside Simon Solbas. They were playing against Carlos Maya and American legend John McEnroe in Mallorca, Spain.

Nadal halted the game in front of the  7,000 approximate crowd to find out the reason of an apparent commotion. He and the others soon realised that it was due to a child being missing. The child’s mother was visibly upset standing beside a steward and shouting ‘Clara’. Moments later a confused young girl was spot by another steward a short distance away from the emotional parent. Bystanders in the crowd immediately alerted the mother, who ran to her tearful daughter, picked her up and then hugged her.
