Sarfaraz Ahmed-led Pakistan side on June 18 created the history by lifting the ICC Champions trophy for the first time after defeating their arch-rivals India by 180-runs in the finals played at the Oval in London. It has been for the first time that Pakistan have beaten India by such a huge margin in an ICC tournament finals.

As soon as the Pakistani side arrived at Lahore airport with the trophy, they received a warm welcome as thousands of Pakistani cricket team fans gathered outside the airport to welcome with bouquets. Fans were excited to get a glimpse of the Champions, click photos and take selfies with them as they made them proud by beating India in such a bigger platform.

Interestingly, during the victory celebrations with their countrymen, Pakistani skipper Sarafaraz Ahmed was spotted singing a song and it was “Mauka Mauka” song used in an advertisement ahead of ICC World Cup 2015’s match between India and Pakistan, which Men in Blue won it in style. Indian cricket fans have been teasing the Pakistan cricket team since then. But ICC Champions victory gave Pakistani fans a reason to sing this ‘Mauka Mauka’ song.

After the defeat, Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed hailed his side’s character and belief.

“After the India (group) match I said to my boys, the tournament is not finished yet. I told them trust their talent. We played very well and now we have won the final,” Sarfraz said.

“We played like we had nothing to lose, now we are champions. It’s a very proud moment for me and my country, and thanks to the nation for supporting us,” the wicket-keeper added.
