MS Dhoni Gets Padma Bhushan Award The Day He Won The World Cup For India 7 Years Ago

MS Dhoni marched towards the President Ram Nath Kovind to receive the Padma Bhushan Award

India’s former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni received the Padma Bhushan Award from President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapathi Bhawan, Delhi. Dhoni attended the ceremony wearing his Lieutenant Colonel uniform. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Home Minister Rajnath Singh were present at the ceremony too. Billiards player Pankaj Advani was among the sportspersons to received India’s third-highest civilian award.

Dhoni’s wife Sakshi Rawat was present at the ceremony too.

April 2 is a special date for Dhoni as 7 years ago he won India their second World Cup after a long gap of 28 years in 2011. He finished the match with a six with 10 balls to go off Nuwan Kulasekara’s delivery at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Dhoni has led India to two World Cup titles (T20 and 50-over) and to the top of ICC Test rankings as well.
