Mithali Raj says winning the Women's World Cup will be a REVOLUTION in women’s cricket in India

England vs India: Mind you, this is in all probability the final world cup for two Indian greats, Jhulan Goswami and Mithali Raj

India Women tamed their Australian counterparts by 36 runs to storm into the finals of the Women’s World Cup 2017. Mithali Raj-led team India have set up a date with hosts England. The finals is slated for 23rd of July at the iconic Lords. India eves did make another finals of the Women’s World Cup, way back in 2005, where they locked-horns with South Africa. Mind you, this is in all probability the final world cup for two Indian greats, Jhulan Goswami and Mithali Raj.

Earlier, Harmanpreet Kaur starred in India’s win against defending champions Australia by smashing a breathtaking 171* off 115 balls, an innings that was studded with 7 sixes and 20 fours. As reported by The Indian Express, Mithali Raj spoke about Harmanpreet and said, “Harman’s innings was exceptional. To come back in the semifinals and play an innings like this was brilliant. Jhulan too was superb and has hit her straps at the right time. We have players now who are of international standards. We have a new Woman of the Match in every game which is wonderful. Smriti scored a century in the early stages, Poonam got one after that and Harman today.”

She also spoke about the upcoming finals at Lords and said, “I am sure Harman would be fit and wanting to play the finals. All of us are very excited to be in the finals at Lord’s. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity. (On her mid-innings dug out dance) Veda and I choreographed a song and I just reminded Veda about that when it was played out. I did not know the cameras were on us.”

With the skipper Mithali Raj confident of the finale clash, the onus will be on England to outclass India. Mind you, England have lost to India in the tournament opener.
