Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has again proved that he is the fittest among all the current cricketers in the Indian cricket team. He hit the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore and did something that made his critics eat up their words. He is not a part of the Indian set up in whites, who are currently in Sri Lanka preparing to play the final Test at Kandy, but (MS Dhoni) still continues to remain a pivotal cog in the One Day Internationals set up. He recently featured in the ICC Champions Trophy where India emerged as second, behind Pakistan. Questions were raised over Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh’s future in the blues. But Dhoni has answered his critics in his own way.
So what transpired that made us believe he is the fittest? Here’s the story!
On Friday, Dhoni posted a photo, describing his lunch after a heavy training session. The other cricketers in the photo are Raina and Kedar Jadhav. During training at the NCA, MSD, as he is popularly called, went on to run 20 metres at with an incredible timing of 2.91 seconds. This is nowhere close to what Usain Bolt does, who clocks 100 metres in less than 10 seconds.
Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina are all in the fray for getting selected in the limited over’s internationals versus neighbours Sri Lanka. Kohli and his boys will take the field at Kandy with a 2-0 unassailable lead, mindful of the record at stake. Virat Kohli could become the first Indian captain to win a series abroad with a clean win. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen.
