What’s common between Rohit Sharma and Yusuf Pathan? Both of them played for India at different levels. While one opened the batting for India, the latter was a devastating hitter. The duo has been part of various Indian Premier League seasons and entertained crowds with their batting prowess. But do you know that a rare feat unites the two teammates when it comes to IPL?

It’s the number of IPL crowns. Both Rohit Sharma and Yusuf Pathan have won the IPL crown thrice, which is no mean feat. Pathan Sr. won it being a part of two teams, and same is the case with Rohit Sharma.

Pathan won it with Rajasthan Royals (2008) in the first year of IPL, and then with KKR (2012, 2014). Rohit Sharma won his first IPL crown in 2009 with Deccan Chargers and then with Mumbai Indians in 2013 and 2017.

It will be an all-new start for Pathan, but with the kind of domestic experience he brings to the table, he can be a threat on Indian pitches and conditions.

The biggest problem with Pathan was the fact that he was too inconsistent. So one could not rely on him to see the team through when in trouble. The IPL veteran has played 149 games scoring 2904 runs at an average of 29.63, but more importantly what makes him an asset is his strike rate, which is 145.49. He also has an IPL hundred to his name.

Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, has been one of Mumbai Indians’ biggest strengths. He has been consistent along with a good strike rate of 130.89. He is a different kind of a player in comparison with Pathan. Pathan is more of a slogger, whereas Rohit has it all. He is a pure batsman who has all the shots in the book.
