IPL 2018, RCB vs KXIP, Match 8: David Miller Needs One Six To Break Glenn Maxwell's Record For Punjab

IPL 2018, RCB vs KXIP: Ravinchandran Ashwin-led Kings XI Punjab will be looking to continue their winning streak against Royal Challengers Bangalore

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) got off to a perfect start in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 beating Delhi Daredevils (DD) without breaking a sweat. KL Rahul’s record-breaking fastest IPL century marked his return to the league after a gap of one year. Now, he will be playing against his previous franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Same goes for Chris Gayle if he gets a chance to feature in playing XI.

RCB’s homeground M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is known for huge scores barring the previous season. If the re-modeled pitch is a batting paradise then we can expect a few records broken and players achieving new feats.

1. David Miller has played only KXIP in his IPL career. If he manages to hit one six against RCB bowling attack, he will become the batsman with most sixes for KXIP. Currently, he is sharing the top spot with Australian batsmen Glenn Maxwell and Shaun Marsh with 78 sixes.

2. In the most sixes for KXIP list, Axar Patel has a chance to go past former Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist. Both Gilchrist and Patel have hit 28 sixes for KXIP. He will become 5th on the list with one maximum.

3. As far as sixes struck in IPL overall is concerned, Yuvraj Singh is in the 10th spot with 141 sixes. If Yuvraj gets into the groove and manages to hit 6 sixes in his innings, he will go past Yusuf Pathan who has 146 sixes in IPL.

4. KXIP skipper Ravinchandran Ashwin needs two wickets to go past Zaheer Khan’s tally of 102 wickets in IPL. Ashwin will become the 9th highest wicket-taker in IPL if he takes two wickets.

5. If Gayle somehow makes it into the playing XI and scores a half-century, he will join AB de Villiers and Robin Uthappa in the list of most fifties in IPL. But it depends on mentor Virender Sehwag’s decision whether to give Gayle or not.

6. If Patel takes 3 or more catches he will go past Marsh in the list of most catches by a player for KXIP. Patel has 24 catches whereas Marsh has 26. The list is led by Miller with 42 catches.
