IPL 2018: MS Dhoni Stumps Kane Williamson To Register Most Stumpings In IPL History

IPL 2018 Final, CSK vs SRH: Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Kane Williamson becomes MS Dhoni's 33rd stumping in IPL history

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni gets another record to his name in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018. Dhoni stumped Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper Kane Williamson to become the wicketkeeper with most stumpings in the 11-year-long history of IPL. Dhoni (33 stumpings) surpassed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) player Robin Uthappa (32 stumpings) to achieve this feat. Uthappa lagged behind as skipper Dinesh Karthik kept the stumps for KKR.

However, Dhoni has a long way to go in terms of the number of dismissals in IPL history. Karthik has 124 dismissals from 124 matches whereas Dhoni has 116 dismissals from 175 matches.

The record was set in the 13th over of SRH’s innings. Dancing down the pitch, leg-spinner Karn Sharma lured Williamson into a shot. Karn bowled it wide to the Kiwi batsman and Dhoni made no mistake to dislodge the bails in a flash.
