Chris Gayle fans were left stunned after Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) franchise rested him for today’s Indian Premier League (IPL) battle against Delhi Daredevils (DD) at the Ferozshah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi.

Chris Gayle, who took the IPL 2018 season by storm by scoring 229 runs so far in 3 outings, was replaced with South African batsman David Miller.

On the other hand, Delhi, who are playing their first home game, have brought in Dan Christian and Liam Plunkett, replacing Chris Morris and Jason Roy.

Soon after KXIP skipper R Ashwin announced their playing XI for the match during the toss, Twitter got filled with angry comments about Gayle being dropped for the game due to niggle in his back.
