After ruling in Rajkot against the Gujarat Lions, The Kolkata Knight Riders had a setback situation against the Mumbai Indians in the seventh game of the Indian Premier League 10. After losing the toss, the in-form opening pair of Gautam Gambhir and Chris Lynn was expected to do another marvel at Wankhede but what happened really was totally unfortunate. From one end, the KKR batsmen kept losing their wickets but at the other end, it was right-handed batsman Manish Pandey, whose knock of 81 was savage for Kolkata.
Kolkata was reduced to 48/2 when Pandey came into bat and then he didn’t look back and charged right from then. Playing like a boss, he hit almost every Mumbai bowler and his bat kept on yelling run, especially in the death over. Pandey provided a miraculous strength to team’s foundation and the runs were getting added to the account. Gradually he hit another IPL half-century but doesn’t stop their itself. After hitting 4 fours and 4 sixes, Pandey played an extraordinary inning of 81 runs and took all the limelight.
From 48/2 to 178/7, Pandey held it strongly and remained not out till the end. His batting not only helped KKR to reach up to a competitive score but also entertained every cricket fan.
