IPL 10 GL vs SRH: Afghanistan's Rashid Khan receives 'Purple Cap', Twitteratis erupt in joy

It was Rashid's day which went in a splendid way and he successfully took 3 wickets for 19 runs in four overs

The 6th game between the Gujarat Lions and Sunrisers Hyderabad was another setback for the Suresh Raina-led side as the top order once again failed to perform and looked totally trembling. Top four batsmen of Gujarat went back to the pavilion in eight overs after collectively putting just 57 runs. It was only Jason Roy who could score 31 while McCullum (5), Raina (5) and Finch (3) could even cross the 10 run mark.

All these batsmen looked helpless against the Hyderabad bowling and debutant Rashid Khan from Afghanistan became the big man of the game. Playing just the 2nd game of his IPL career, Rashid not only showed his class performance with the bowl but also proved his worth in the team. He gulped down Brendon McCullum, Suresh Raina and Aron Finch. These three were expected to turn the situation into something big but they surrendered even before loading their guns.

Indeed it was Rashid’s day which went in a splendid way and he successfully took 3 wickets for 19 runs in four overs. Secondly, he became the first highest wicket taker of this season and received the ‘Purple Cap’. In two games, Rashid has taken 5 wickets and there is a long for him to go.

Meanwhile, the Twitteratis hailed this Afghan man’s performance who smashed the Gujarat batting line-up and poured their reactions and wishes.
