IPL 2017: Virat Kohli declared fit, set to join RCB for match against Mumbai Indians

He was recuperating from a shoulder injury that he suffered during a Test against Australia in Ranchi

There are enough reasons for fans of  Royal challengers Bangalore to cheer up as side’s skipper and most promising batsman Virat Kohli is set to return to action. The right-hander has been declared match- fit and will be available for team’s match against Mumbai Indians on April 14.

On Wednesday, he showed signs of returning when he attended team’s net session in Bengaluru and went through some fielding drills. Under the guidance of fielding coach Trent Woodhill, Kohli looked fit and  roaring to go . He was seen taking high and low catches, curiously, the RCB captain did not drop a single catch in the whole session.

The Indian skipper suffered a shoulder injury during the third test of the four-Test series against Australia in Ranchi last month. He was injured when he dived to save a boundary, subsequently, he missed the fourth match in Dharmsala and later ruled out of opening phase of IPL.

Earlier, the 28-year-old had dropped hints that he could return to action soon and may join RCB’s next match against Mumbai Indians. He had also posted a on his Instagram account of his gym session. “Can’t wait to get back onto the field. Almost there now on 14th April?,” his post read.
